Gus Albertson is the son of a working-class family associated with the Grays. Just as Gus's father Jim worked for Nathaniel Gray as his assistant, Gus took up a similar role under Corwin Gray. He's a hard-working fellow, and very dedicated and loyal, though probably because he doesn't know much else. Gus is a second-class citizen no aspirations to become a wealthy businessman himself; the thought just doesn't cross his mind. However, his (and his siblings') dedication to the Grays has made them about as prosperous as a working-class family can be, as Gus's job more than provides for his wife Kylie, his son Alec, and his two daughters Milena and Tania. Gus's son, at age eight, already lends a hand.
Gus's dramatic axis is his naivete. His life has a very narrow focus towards assisting Nathaniel, and his loyalty is at least partially due to not knowing much else, as he's been working for him since he was age seven.
