I agree completely. I'm going to be presenting the council with a bill that will provide for the hire of a number of "irregulars," mostly mercenaries and hired guns from out of town, but also including natives like Virgil Church's band. This might seem unusual, but there is much at stake and we cannot afford to lose.
Under normal circumstances, these men will be integrated with the normal militia, but I will see to it that you, as our new Supervisor of Irregular Troops, will have complete oversight of their use. This will involve making sure they do what they're supposed to, of course, but you will be free to use independent detachments in special circumstances.
