Ophelia Wolfe

This is revised as of 7/28/08.

Ophelia Wolfe was a thief. She just had a habit of stealing things, not big things, no grand scores; she just picked locks and lifted purses.

Ophelia left her home and family and gave herself the name Wolfe at the age of eighteen. It's rumored that she comes from a well-established family, but she refuses to mention anything about her life before she left. She's twenty-seven now and has been in Newton for four years. Over years of traveling, living off and on the streets, and sneaking around she's developed an ability to... hear things. She knows, or knows of, all of the established crooks in town, some of the bandits outside of town, and you can be sure if anyone new popped up, she'd know that too. She has a little bit of dirt on everyone and some useful information for everyone as well. Ophelia has traded in thieving for the much more respectable position of infochant. When doing business, she can be found in Smacky’s Tavern. Be advised, Ms. Wolfe carries several knives throughout her person and does not appreciate double dealing.

Ophelia likes Newton the way it is with its abundant small-town gossip. She does not want Newton to grow too large too fast, lest she lose the ability to manage her information network effectively. She also does not wish to have to deal with any competitors.

Ophelia does not know William Newton, nor does she have any particular desire to. William being a very well-established man, with quite a hefty legacy just hits a little too close to home for comfort. Shall we say salt on the wounds she'd prefer to avoid? Also, Ophelia is not married and doesn't have any children

Remember that your third character, like the first and second, needs to have an agenda of some sort and some ability to push it. As written right now, your character doesn't look like she could be much of a player in the future of Newton.

Okay, that works. So sort of an outlaw who went semi-legit. I'd imagine Ophelia would be able to sell information both to undesirables as well as to legitimate businesspeople.

Yes, that is the idea. I suppose some of the more legit folk might want a more secretive setting than a trash tavern, but I imagine arrangements could be made.
